Lucknow, October 22, 2026. Taking swift cognizance of a complaint regarding the display of details of another voter against the EPIC numbers of voters listed in the voter list of Assembly Constituency 127-Pilibhit, the matter was investigated today through the District Election Officer, Pilibhit. According to the report received from the District Election Officer, upon subsequent checks in the voter list of Assembly Constituency 127-Pilibhit, it was found that searching certain voters' EPIC numbers online displayed details of other voters. Instructions have been issued to immediately rectify such errors and to forthwith remove the Electoral Registration Officer and VRC Operator of Assembly Constituency 127-Pilibhit from voter list duties, as well as to initiate legal action against them under Section 32 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. At the same time, instructions have been given to provide a clear report regarding the responsibilities of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of this assembly constituency. The District Election Officer, Pilibhit, has been directed to conduct a thorough review of the voter lists of all assembly constituencies in the district on this point and submit a detailed report within two days.
