Army Intelligence arrests husband-wife duo in Ferozepur for alleged spying for Pak-based ISI
Ferozepur, October 23, 2026: In a major counter-intelligence breakthrough, Army Intelligence, in coordination with Ferozepur Police, has arrested a husband-wife duo from Kalu Wala village, the last village along the India-Pakistan international border, for their alleged involvement in an espionage network linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
According to the FIR, the accused allegedly collected and transmitted highly sensitive information relating to Indian Army establishments, including maps of military locations, weapons and ammunition depots, cantonment areas and other information concerning military preparedness and security arrangements. Investigators suspect that the information was being passed to ISI-linked handlers operating from Pakistan and Malaysia.
The arrested couple allegedly also provided sensitive information concerning the border area to Pakistani smugglers, according to the police case. Several mobile phones containing potentially sensitive material have reportedly been seized from the accused. Investigators are examining the recovered data to establish what information was allegedly transmitted and to whom.
The role of the woman accused has emerged as a particularly sensitive aspect of the investigation. As per the FIR, she allegedly posed as a police official and used social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat to establish contact with Army personnel. She allegedly attempted to lure personnel into relationships and obtain sensitive military information through a suspected honey-trap operation.
The investigation is also focusing on the couple’s alleged links with foreign handlers and the possibility of other persons being involved in the network.
The accused, residents of Kalu Wala village, were arrested following intelligence inputs and subsequent verification by Army Intelligence and the police. A case has been registered under Sections 3 and 4 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. Further investigation is underway to trace the complete network, identify additional associates and ascertain the extent of the sensitive information allegedly compromised.
