Jerusalem, March 27, 2026: Qatar had warned the US that provoking Iran would destroy its own energy infrastructure but the US went ahead. This has been reported by a Israeli media house.
Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi the Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President/CEO of Qatar Energy, has said that he told U.S. Secretary of Energy and executives at ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips almost every single day they our energy infrastructure will get destroyed.
It is worth mentioning here that Al Kaabi is also holding key role in global LNG production. He oversees Qatar’s major North Field expansion.
He said that since war has broken out Iran has since taken out 17 percent of Qatar's LNG capacity. A loss of almost $ 20 billion which will take 3 to 5 years to recover from loss. He has also warned that now oil could hit $150 a barrel and this war could bring down the economies of the world.
