Third National Moot Court Competition concludes at CGC University, Mohali
Over 50 Leading Law Colleges Participate; Amity University Wins Top Honours

Mohali (Punjab), November 11, 2025: CGC University, Mohali organized its two days Third National Moot Court Competition 2025. Over 50 premier law colleges from across India participated, including Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Christ University Bengaluru, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Army Institute of Law, RGNUL, Punjab University, UPES Dehradun, and Amity University.
The competition was conducted under the aegis of the Moot Court Society, Chandigarh Law College (CLC), led by Prof. (Dr.) J.P. Yadav. The event was inaugurated by Surabhi Prashar, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, SAS Nagar.
Participants argued the moot proposition “Prakash Chandra & Others vs. State of Zania” based on constitutional and criminal law. The Grand Finale was adjudicated by Neeraj Kumar (ILS), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, and Senior Advocate Poonam Singh Hundal, Punjab & Haryana High Court.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Justice Vikram Aggarwal, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court, as Chief Guest, along with CGC University’s Founder Chancellor, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal. A key highlight of the event was the launch of Chandigarh Law Review, the official law journal of CLC, featuring 15 scholarly research papers.
Amity University, Mohali emerged as the winner, followed by Christ University, Bengaluru as runner-up. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University bagged the Best Mooter title, Army Institute of Law won Best Memorial, and Punjab University was recognized as Best Researcher.
Winners received trophies, certificates, and cash prizes — ₹51,000 for the winning team, ₹21,000 for the runner-up, and ₹5,100 each for Best Speaker, Best Memorial, and Best Researcher categories.
The event concluded with resounding applause, reaffirming CGC University’s commitment to academic excellence, experiential learning, and advancement in legal scholarship.
