Breaking: Punjab Govt notifies 8% DA hike

Chandigarh, September 23, 2026: The Punjab Government has notified an 8 percentage point increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, raising the existing rate from 42% to 50% with effect from September 1, 2026.
The Department of Finance, Finance Personnel-1 Branch, issued the notification on Wednesday. The enhanced DA will be payable with the salary for September 2026.
According to the notification, the decision has been approved by the Governor of Punjab and will apply to employees of the Punjab Government.
The Finance Department has circulated the order to all Special Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries, Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries, as well as Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, District and Sessions Judges and other concerned authorities.
