Deputy Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti repatriated to parent cadre

New Delhi, August 11, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the repatriation of Gyanesh Bharti, IAS (AGMUT:1998), Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India, to his parent cadre.
The decision was taken on the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and includes the imposition of an extended cooling-off period.
Bharti, a 1998-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, was serving as Deputy Election Commissioner with the Election Commission of India.
