Income Tax Dept organises Taxpayer Outreach Programme under PRARAMBH 2026
Ferozepur, September 29: The Income Tax Department organised a Taxpayer Outreach Programme under PRARAMBH 2026 in Ferozepur to create awareness about tax exemption provisions under the New Income-tax Act, 2025, and address issues faced by registered non-profit organisations (RNPOs).
The programme was held under the guidance of the Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), Chandigarh, and the Additional Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), Range-1, Chandigarh.
Representatives of various non-profit organisations, including trusts, societies, hospitals and educational institutions, along with chartered accountants, advocates and members of the Tax Bar Association, participated in the programme and interacted with Income Tax Department officials.
Devender Yadav, Income Tax Officer (Exemptions), Amritsar, explained key provisions relating to registration procedures, timely filing of audit reports and income tax returns, newly introduced forms and other compliance requirements.
He also highlighted the major changes introduced under the New Income-tax Act, 2025, particularly those aimed at simplifying procedures, improving clarity and strengthening the tax exemption framework compared with the Income-tax Act, 1961.
Sukhdeep Kumar, Income Tax Officer, Ferozepur, along with his staff, attended the programme and assisted in its successful organisation and coordination.
During the interactive session, departmental officers addressed queries raised by participants regarding tax exemptions and compliance procedures. Feedback and suggestions were also collected from stakeholders to understand practical difficulties faced by taxpayers and tax professionals.
The programme was appreciated by participants as a useful initiative to enhance taxpayer awareness, encourage voluntary compliance and promote a transparent and taxpayer-friendly tax administration.
