National Gatka Trials conclude successfully in Chandigarh; 119 players participate from across India

Chandigarh, August 31, 2026: The National Gatka Trials, organised by the Chandigarh Gatka Association (Regd.) in collaboration with the Chandigarh Gurdwara Asthapan Committee (CGAC), concluded successfully at Gurdwara Sahib, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh.
The trials witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 119 Gatka players from different states across India, competing for selection for the 4th Virsa Sambhal National Gatka Championship 2026.
The event was graced by S. Pritpal Singh Soni Ji (Dasuya), S. Mandeep Singh Dhindhsa Ji (Dasuya) and S. Jaswinder Singh Mankoo Ji (Dasuya) as Chief Guests. Their presence and encouragement motivated the participating players and officials.
A special mention goes to S. Gurjot Singh Sawhney Ji, who played a major role in making the event comfortable and successful through his dedicated efforts towards accommodation, food, hospitality and overall arrangements for the participating teams and guests.
The organisers also expressed their sincere appreciation to all officials, technical in-charges, coaches, volunteers and supporting members whose collective efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the trials.
The Chandigarh Gatka Association reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality platforms for Gatka players and continuing efforts towards the promotion and development of Gatka at the national level.
