Phagwara (Punjab), May 4, 2026: The second edition of the International Punjabi Children’s Writers Conference was successfully held in Phagwara, bringing together young literary talent from across Punjab.
Organised by Canada-based Punjab Pawan Surrey, the one-day event aims to encourage children to develop an interest in literature and creative writing. As part of the initiative, poems and writings by children from various age groups were compiled and released in book form, including the 80th edition of “Naviyan Kalam Naiya Udana.”
Founder Sukhi Bath, who travelled from Canada for the event, has been actively working to inspire young writers by publishing their work and providing them a platform to showcase their creativity.
During the conference, children presented their poems and writings on stage and also performed a thought-provoking play addressing the growing issue of drug abuse, which received appreciation from the audience.
Students and teachers from different parts of Punjab participated in large numbers, praising the initiative for fostering literary skills and boosting confidence among young minds. The event was widely regarded as both inspiring and impactful.
