Rakesh Kashyap appointed Chairman of National Dam Safety Authority

New Delhi, August 24, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rakesh Kashyap, Chief Engineer, Central Water Commission (CWC), as the new Chairman of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), New Delhi.
The appointment has been communicated to the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for necessary action.
Kashyap will take charge of the NDSA, the apex authority responsible for overseeing dam safety-related matters and coordinating efforts to strengthen the safety of dams across the country.
