Mohali police nabs three involved in betting of cricket matches and selling of intoxicants

Mohali, July 12, 2021:
Mohali police arrested three persons, who were running an illegal racket of betting on cricket matches and selling intoxicants.
The suspects have been identified as Rajesh Kumar alias Kala, Rahul Arora alias Monty and Surinder Kumar alias Bhinda, all residents of Malout in Sri Muktsar Sahib and were currently staying in Royal Empire Society here on rent.
Mohali SP (rural) Ravjot Kaur Grewal informed that on Sunday, the suspects were nabbed following a tip-off. A team of police raided their location and recovered opium weighing 450 gram, intoxicant powder weighing 250 gram, four laptops and 13 mobile phones.
A case under Sections 18, 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act and 13-A-3-67 Gambling Act was registered against them at the Dhakoli police station. The suspects were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody till July 14, said SP Grewal.
