POST-FLOOD SUPPORT
Neeru Bajwa to Sponsor Board Exam Fees for Hussainiwala border students
Ferozepur, September 16, 2025: As flood-affected areas of Punjab continue to recover, artists from the Punjabi entertainment industry have stepped forward to offer meaningful assistance alongside social workers, religious groups, and political leaders.
At a special visit to village Hazara Singh Wala in Ferozepur, the Hambla Foundation—a collective of artists, actors, NRIs, and social activists—welcomed renowned Punjabi singer Jaswinder Brar and producer Santosh Subhash Thitte, representing actress Neeru Bajwa’s team.
Foundation members Dr. Surjit Singh Sidhu, Jagdeep Warring, Gama Sidhu, Tarlochan Musafir, and PK accompanied the guests to the flood-ravaged island-like village of Kalu Wala to witness the devastation firsthand. Moved by the plight of the residents, Jaswinder Brar pledged continued support to rehabilitate affected families.
Delivering a special message from Mumbai, Santosh Thitte announced that Neeru Bajwa will personally sponsor the board examination fees of students from border-area villages near Hussainiwala, ensuring that their education does not suffer due to the calamity.
Expressing deep concern over the situation, Brar and Thitte commended the Hambla Foundation’s ongoing efforts to survey 15 flood-hit villages and make agricultural land cultivable again.
Foundation members thanked Neeru Bajwa, Jaswinder Brar, and Santosh Thitte for their generosity and appealed to the wider Punjabi film industry to contribute actively to relief and rehabilitation.
Prominent attendees included Resham Singh Vilasra, Sona Singh, Bhupinder Singh, and Babbu.
