Ferozepur Police arrest one, seize over 1 kg heroin, drug money, mobile, 26 SIMs mobile
Ferozepur, October 2, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Ferozepur Police arrested one person and seized 1.061 kg of heroin, 26 SIMs of different operators, a mobile phone, a bag, and drug money. The accused was apprehended during a special operation, and further investigations are underway to trace the wider network behind the consignment.
According to SSP Ferozepur, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu), acting on intelligence inputs, the police launched an operation in the Mamdot area. During the raid, the police intercepted and arrested Gurpreet Singh, son of Amarjit Singh, a 42-year-old resident of village Khushalpur at the T-Point on Khai Pheme Ki link road. From his possession, the police recovered 1.061 kg of heroin, ₹1,90,250 in drug money, mobile and 26 SIMs.
The SSP reiterated that the Punjab Government and Punjab Police are fully committed to making the state drug-free. He said continuous efforts are being made to break the supply chain, track the masterminds, and take strict action against those involved in drug smuggling.
The recovery of 26 SIM cards of different operators has raised strong suspicion about the accused’s wider links in arranging drug consignments. Further, the examination of these SIMs and their data will help trace both backward and forward linkages, potentially exposing the supply chain as well as the buyers and handlers involved in the illegal trade.
The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is in progress to identify his associates and the larger nexus.
