Admissions open at MRSAFPI to train Punjab youth for Armed Forces
Ferozepur, October 6, 2025: The admission process for Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Mohali, will begin on October 15, 2025, announced Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma.
Established by the Punjab Government at Sector 77, Mohali, the institute aims to prepare selected youth from Punjab to join the Armed Forces as officers through the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other equivalent academies.
The institute provides specialised training to Class 11 and 12 students for the UPSC NDA exam and Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. Alongside academics, cadets receive physical training, soft skills development, and leadership grooming to help them become responsible citizens.
All expenses related to training, boarding, lodging, messing, and uniforms are borne by the Punjab Government, with students required to pay only a nominal school fee. So far, 278 cadets from the institute have been selected for NDA and other service academies, with 179 commissioned as officers. In June 2025 alone, 23 cadets joined various training academies — one of the highest numbers across the country, surpassing military and private institutes.
The Deputy Commissioner urged aspirants to make the most of this golden opportunity. Online application forms will be available from October 15, 2025, at www.mrsafpi.punjab.gov.in.
