Punjab Woman Missing in Pakistan Surfaces in Video; Claims Voluntary Conversion to Islam and Marriage to Pakistani National

A video has surfaced of Sarbjit Kaur, a Sikh pilgrim from Punjab who had recently travelled to Pakistan as part of a Sikh jatha for Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Gurpurab and was reported missing during the pilgrimage. The incident had raised concern among her family members and authorities.
In the video, Sarbjit Kaur is seen performing Nikah with Nasir Hussain, a resident of Sheikhupura, Pakistan. She states on camera that she is converting to Islam of her own free will. She further claims that she has known Nasir Hussain for the past nine years and that she has married him out of love.
Pakistani media outlets have also circulated the video, while officials in India are reportedly awaiting further details through diplomatic channels. The case has triggered fresh concerns regarding the safety of pilgrims visiting Pakistan under religious exchange programmes.
