Inderpreet Singh ‘Perry’ Murder Case: Chandigarh Police arrests accused for sheltering shooters

Chandigarh, December 13, 2025:In a major breakthrough in the murder case of Inderpreet Singh alias “Perry”, the Chandigarh Police have arrested a wanted accused who allegedly provided shelter and logistical support to the shooters involved in the crime.
The arrest was carried out by a joint team of the DCC and Police Station Sector 26, under the supervision of the SSP, UT Chandigarh. The accused has been identified as Sunny Kumar (35), son of Sukhmesh Kumar, a resident of Kharar (SAS Nagar). Acting on a specific tip-off, the police apprehended him near the cremation ground in Bhagat Ghat Colony, Kharar.
According to police officials, Sunny Kumar knowingly harboured the main accused and shooters prior to the murder of Inderpreet Singh. He had been on the run since the incident and was actively evading arrest.
During the operation, the police recovered a country-made pistol (Star make) along with two live cartridges from the possession of the accused.
A case has been registered against Sunny Kumar under FIR No. 129 dated December 1, 2025, at Police Station Sector 26, under Sections 103, 3(5), 341(2) of the IPC and Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain which shooters stayed at the accused’s residence and to collect additional evidence linked to the murder.
