Civil Defence to hold training camps for volunteers from Jan 2026
Ferozepur, December 12, 2025: In a bid to strengthen Civil Defence preparedness across the country, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated special measures to enhance Civil Defence services. As part of this initiative, training camps will be organised for both newly registered volunteers and existing Civil Defence wardens in Ferozepur.
To finalise the framework of these training programmes, a special meeting of Civil Defence Warden Services was held under the chairmanship of Chief Warden Parminder Singh Thind. Punjab Home Guards Company Commander Parminder Singh Bath and Deputy Chief Warden Prem Nath Sharma were also present.
Sharing details, Company Commander Parminder Singh Bath said that special training camps for volunteers registered online by the government would commence in the first week of January 2026. These camps will provide training to the general public, students, newly inducted Civil Defence wardens and volunteers to enhance disaster response and emergency management skills. All post wardens and sector wardens attended the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Warden Parminder Singh Thind lauded the commendable role played by Civil Defence wardens during Operation Sindoor and the recent floods in Punjab. He said that wardens from Ferozepur not only actively participated in mock drills locally but also contributed in Fazilka, setting an exemplary standard of service.
He further highlighted the crucial contribution of local wardens in strengthening the Habib Ke Bandh during the initial stages of flooding, which helped avert a major threat to the city of Ferozepur.
Deputy Chief Warden Prem Nath Sharma, Post Wardens Hari Ram Khindri, Rajesh Khanna, Rajiv Wadhwa, Dalbir Singh, Navjot Singh Pinky, Vishaldeep Singh, Arun Sharma, along with all sector wardens, were present on the occasion.
