Close liquor outlets on Sahibzadas’ Martyrdom Day to honour supreme sacrifice: Jathedar Kuldeep Gargajj

Sri Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), December 27, 2025: Addressing a large congregation in the holy city of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, recalled the unparalleled sacrifice of the younger Sahibzadas and called for statewide closure of liquor shops on their martyrdom day.
He urged the Punjab government and the administration to ensure that all liquor outlets across the state remain closed on this solemn occasion. Emphasising the spiritual significance of the day, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj said these days are meant for mourning, introspection and devotion, not for intoxication or entertainment.
The Acting Jathedar stated that true respect for the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas lies in taking concrete steps towards building a drug-free society. He appealed especially to the youth to follow the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, focus on character building and contribute positively to society.
