Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar honours Ferozepur’s Mayank Foundation for Road Safety Excellence
Ferozepur, January 2, 2026: In a significant recognition of grassroots activism, the Punjab Government has honoured the Mayank Foundation, Ferozepur, for its outstanding contribution toward road safety awareness. The award was presented during the state-level launch of National Road Safety Month held in the state capital, Chandigarh. Deepak Sharma, representing the foundation, received the prestigious accolade from Laljit Singh Bhullar, Punjab’s Transport Minister, at the launch function organised by the Lead Agency on Road Safety under the Punjab Government’s Ministry of Transport.
During the event, the Director General of the Lead Agency and the DGP Traffic, Punjab, expressed specific appreciation for the sustained and impactful efforts of the Mayank Foundation. The foundation’s standing as an empanelled NGO with the Lead Agency on Road Safety further highlights its formal and consistent role in supporting government-backed safety initiatives across the region. This state-level recognition coincides with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, observing the month of January as National Road Safety Month under the theme “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha.”
The Mayank Foundation has been a consistent force in the field of road safety since 2018, working tirelessly to promote responsible road behaviour. Over the years, the organisation has spearheaded hundreds of awareness seminars, eye check-up camps, helmet distribution drives, and reflector pasting campaigns aimed at saving lives. The foundation stated that this latest recognition reaffirms its unwavering commitment to building safer roads and spreading awareness for the protection of human lives.
