DLSA holds medical camp at Central Jail; awareness drive against drugs conducted
Ferozepur, January 2, 2026: A special medical check-up camp was organised today at the Central Jail, Ferozepur. The initiative was part of a month-long anti-drug campaign, led by Sumeet Malhotra, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). "Youth Against Drugs," which is being observed from December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026.
The medical camp was conducted in collaboration with the Civil Surgeon. During the session, expert doctors from the Civil Hospital examined the inmates and provided necessary medical consultations.
The event was attended by Ms Anuradha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, along with the Superintendent of Central Jail, Ferozepur, and other senior jail officials.
While interacting with the inmates, she briefed them on the "Youth Against Drugs" campaign. She emphasised that drug addiction is extremely harmful to health and urged the inmates to stay away from intoxicants to lead a better life. She further motivated them to utilize the rehabilitation resources provided to reintegrate into society as healthy individuals.
