CBI coordinates deportation of Lawrence Bishnoi gang member from US through INTERPOL

New Delhi, January 7, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has successfully facilitated the return of wanted fugitive Aman alias Aman Kumar alias Aman Bhainswal from the United States of America to India through INTERPOL.
According to an official press release issued by the CBI, the fugitive was deported from the USA and arrived in India on January 7, 2026, where he was taken into custody by a team of Haryana Police at Delhi Airport.
Aman was wanted by Haryana Police in several serious criminal cases, including murder, rioting and criminal conspiracy.
He is also described as a notorious criminal and a key member of an organised criminal gang known as the “Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.” The accused had earlier been arrested in India and was subsequently granted bail, after which he absconded.
On the request of Haryana Police, the CBI had got a Red Notice published through INTERPOL against the accused to facilitate his international tracking. Following sustained coordination, the subject was located and traced in the United States.
The CBI stated that as the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in India, it coordinates with law enforcement agencies across the country through BHARATPOL and provides assistance via INTERPOL channels. Over the last few years, more than 150 wanted criminals have been brought back to India through effective international police cooperation.
