Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), January 9, 2026 — A horrific road accident claimed the lives of at least seven people today in the Renukaji assembly constituency of Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh.
The tragedy unfolded when a private bus, operated by "Jeet Coach," skidded off the road and plummeted approximately 60 meters into a steep gorge near the Haripurdhar market.
The ill-fated vehicle was en route from Shimla to Kupvi and was reportedly packed with passengers at the time of the crash. The impact was so severe that the bus was reduced to a mangled heap of metal, sparking immediate chaos and panic in the area.
Upon witnessing the accident, a large crowd of local residents rushed to the site to initiate a frantic rescue operation, pulling victims from the wreckage before official teams could arrive. Following the alert, the local police, along with the administration, reached the spot to coordinate the relief efforts. Renukaji MLA Vinay Kumar has officially confirmed the deaths of seven individuals, though there are fears that the toll could rise given the critical condition of several survivors. All injured passengers have been rushed to the Haripurdhar hospital, where emergency medical care is being provided.
