The Chief Minister informed that he had received written records and documentary evidence regarding alleged shortcomings in the functioning of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the misuse of its funds. He said these documents had been formally submitted to the Singh Sahiban for their consideration.
Responding to a controversial video circulating on social media, CM Mann categorically termed it fake. He said that in the era of Artificial Intelligence, fabricated content can be easily created and spread. He also offered to have the video examined by any forensic laboratory to establish the truth.
On the sensitive issue of the missing 328 holy saroops (sacred scriptures) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Chief Minister asserted that no politics was being played.
He appealed to the Singh Sahiban that if the government is provided with the “religious identifiers” of the holy saroops, it could assist the SGPC in identifying and tracing the saroops that are outside official records.
CM Mann further said that the Singh Sahibans had assured him that each document submitted would be examined carefully. He added that a decision would be taken after a collective meeting of the five Singh Sahibans, following which further directions would be issued.
