Education Dept holds “District-Level Vocational and Skill Competition” under NSQF-2026
Vocational Education is key to students’ bright future: MLA Bhullar
Ferozepur, January 15, 2026: A district-level vocational and skill competition, along with a quiz competition under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) 2026, in line with the guidelines of the Punjab School Education Department, was organised with great enthusiasm at PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Ferozepur.
The event was graced by Ferozepur Urban MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar as the chief guest. The competitions were successfully conducted under the leadership of District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Ms Munila Arora and Deputy District Education Officer Dr Satinder Singh, National Awardee.
Students from various government schools across the district participated in the competitions and showcased their vocational skills, technical knowledge and creative thinking. The participants actively took part in practical, oral and written activities related to skill-based subjects, reflecting their competence and confidence.
Addressing the students on the occasion, MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar emphasised that vocational education is the foundation of a strong and prosperous future for Punjab. He said that in today’s competitive world, degrees alone are not enough; skill-based and employment-oriented education is equally important. Such competitions, he added, help build self-confidence among students and prepare them to become self-reliant.
District Education Officer Ms Munila Arora stated that vocational education being imparted under the NSQF is opening new avenues of employment for students. Deputy District Education Officer Dr Satinder Singh appreciated the role of teachers and said that they are playing a vital role in nurturing the talent and skills of students.
At the conclusion of the event, the winning students were honoured with prizes, while all participants were encouraged for their efforts. The competition proved to be a source of inspiration and motivation for the students.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Raj Bahadur Singh Gill, DSP Sukhwinder Singh, District Coordinator Ashwinder Brar, Arvind Garg, Parvinder Singh Lalchian, Ms Nitma, Akash Kumar, Ms Rajni Jagga, school head Rajiv Maini, Rakesh Grover and others.
