CGC University Mohali hosts ‘Bharat AI’ Pre-Summit to Mark National Startup Day

Mohali (Punjab), January 24, 2026: CGC University Mohali organized a grand event themed "Bharat AI: Driving Inclusive, Responsible and Impact-Led Artificial Intelligence" to commemorate National Startup Day.
This event served as the official pre-summit for the 'India-AI Impact Summit 2026', recognized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Numerous experts from the fields of education and technology attended, reaffirming the institution's leading role in the technical landscape.
The event featured deep insights into the ethical aspects of AI and its real-world applications through keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops. Amit Kataria, CEO and Co-founder of Sarus AI, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Maya Sherman, Head of Technology at the Embassy of Israel, shared global AI trends via video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of the University, said, "Bharat AI symbolizes our commitment to merging technology with ethics. We are preparing our students for the challenges of the future." Dr. Ati Priye, CEO of University Incubation and Startups, expressed gratitude to all participants for the successful execution of the event.
A major highlight was the 'AI Project Showcase', where students presented AI models related to healthcare, cybersecurity, and education. The key takeaways from this pre-summit will be shared at the national-level 'India-AI Impact Summit' scheduled for February 19-20, 2026, in New Delhi.
