Speaker Sandhwan inaugurates Healthcare and Beauty Wellness Labs worth ₹70 Lakh
Kotkapura, January 30, 2026: In a significant move to bolster vocational training and empower girl students, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today inaugurated state-of-the-art Healthcare and Beauty Wellness laboratories at Dr. Chanda Singh Marwah Government Kanya Senior Secondary School, Kotkapura.
The facilities, established by the Punjab Government under the Skill Education initiative, have been completed at a cost of approximately ₹70 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, Speaker Sandhwan emphasized that skill-based education is the need of the hour. "These modern labs will provide our students with a massive opportunity to acquire job-oriented skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially independent," he stated. He further noted that courses in Healthcare and Beauty Wellness are designed to open diverse career paths and self-employment avenues for students in the modern economy.
The Speaker reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to elevating the standard of education across the state. He highlighted that the government is continuously taking proactive steps to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry requirements. During the event, Sandhwan also officially launched the School Admission Campaign 2026.
The event saw participation from skill education trainers and local community leaders, all of whom lauded the initiative for its potential impact on the local youth. Notably, such educational reforms are being mirrored in nearby regions, including Ferozepur, as part of the state's broader developmental agenda.
