Action-oriented focus on “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative over 3-Day Anganwadi Workers training for holistic child development
Ferozepur, January 30, 2026: Under the aegis of the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Punjab, a comprehensive district-level three-day training program for Anganwadi workers concluded today. Conducted under the ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ initiative, the training was held under the supervision of District Program Officer (DPO) Richika Nanda.
Anganwadi workers serve as the backbone of India’s rural healthcare and primary education system. Functioning as the first point of contact between the government and the community, they play a crucial role in eradicating malnutrition and ensuring the healthy growth of the next generation. Their contribution extends beyond health; they are vital community educators who drive social change, promote hygiene, and ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach the grassroots level.
The training was organized in multiple batches to ensure extensive coverage across the district: First Batch: January 15 to January 17, 2026, Second Batch: January 19 to January 21, 2026 and Third Batch: January 28 to January 30, 2026.
The sessions were strategically held at three different venues and a total of eight batches were successfully completed across these venues.
The primary objective of the workshop was to train Anganwadi workers in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). Detailed sessions were conducted regarding the developmental milestones of children in the 0-3 years age group.
Furthermore, for children aged 3 to 6 years, the workers were trained in various activities designed to stimulate: Language and Cognitive Development, Creative and Physical Growth and Socio-Cultural Awareness.
The training sessions were attended by the Pratham Team, supervisors, block coordinators, and a large number of Anganwadi workers.
