Ferozepur secures Top-10 All India AIF Rank; Rs 9,572 Cr credit potential highlighted in PLP Meet
Ferozepur, March 25, 2026: Ferozepur district has brought laurels to Punjab by securing the 10th Rank at the All-India level under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme, reflecting strong performance in facilitating agri-infrastructure projects.
The certificate of recognition was conferred during the AIF Conclave at MGSIPA, Chandigarh and was formally handed over to Ms. Amandeep Kaur, ADC (General), in the presence of Sudhir, LDO, RBI; Sunil Kumar, AGM (Circle Head – Moga), PNB; Ms. Geeta, LDM Ferozepur; and Rohit Kashyap, DDM NABARD, on behalf of the District Administration.
The achievement was reviewed during the District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting, chaired by Ms. Amandeep Kaur, ADC (General), Ferozepur, where Post-PLP sensitisation was undertaken.
During the sensitisation, the PLP 2026–27 projects a total credit potential of ₹9,582.29 crore, with the following sectoral composition: Crop Loan: ₹3,644.41 crore (38.0%), Agri Term Loan: ₹1,915.40 crore (20.0%), Total Agriculture Credit: ₹5,559.81 crore (58.0%), MSME: ₹2,381.51 crore (24.8%), Other Priority Sector (OPS): ₹1,641.01 crore (17.1%).
Discussions focused on aligning credit flow with the assessed potential, promoting investment credit, and leveraging AIF for strengthening agri-infrastructure and value chains.
Addressing the meeting, Ms. Amandeep Kaur, ADC (Gen.), appreciated the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders and emphasized sustained focus on credit delivery.
Rohit Kashyap, DDM NABARD, highlighted that the district’s Top-10 All-India ranking under AIF reflects its strong potential in agri-infrastructure and emphasised the need to prioritise infrastructure financing, FPOs, and allied sector activities in line with PLP projections.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to translate PLP projections into effective ground-level credit flow, further strengthening the rural economy of this aspirational border district
