Hussainiwala Shaheedi Sports Meet concludes with grand success; Ghangha clinch Open Kabaddi Cup
Ferozepur, March 25, 2026: The annual Shaheedi Sports Meet held at Hussainiwala, dedicated to the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, concluded late last night, leaving behind lasting memories and a strong message of youth engagement in sports and a drug-free lifestyle.
Organised by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Rajguru Sukhdev Memorial Society with the support of NRIs, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, youth, women and veterans. A patriotic cultural evening was also organized alongside the sports activities.
In the highlight event, the Open Kabaddi Cup saw participation from eight top teams across Punjab. In a thrilling final, Ghangha village emerged as champions, while Bhangar secured the runner-up position. Players displayed exceptional skills, with spectators enjoying high-energy contests and contributing cash rewards in appreciation.
Apart from kabaddi, competitions including 1600m race, high jump, long jump and wrestling were organised, where youngsters showcased remarkable talent. Winners were awarded cash prizes, medals and trophies.
Several prominent personalities, including former MLA Parminder Singh Pinky and SAD leader Sukhpal Singh Nannu, attended the event and extended financial support and encouragement to players. NRIs also played a significant role in sponsoring and promoting the event.
The organisers reiterated their commitment to continue promoting sports as a means to channel youth energy positively and build a healthy society.
