Big Breaking: Punjab Decides to Dissolve 9 Municipal Corporations, 102 Councils with From Effective Dates as per Notification ( Read Notification Copies / Lists)

In a major administrative decision, the Bhagwant Mann Government has decided to dissolve 9 Municipal Corporations and 102 Municipal Councils across the state, removing all mayors and council presidents from their positions from the effective dates as mentioned in the notificaitons.
The move comes amid delays in conducting local body elections. In the interim, the government has appointed administrative officers to oversee the functioning of these urban local bodies.
Officials confirmed that the newly appointed administrators have started assuming charge from today to ensure continuity in civic administration and public services.
The decision is expected to have significant political and administrative implications, as elected representatives have been replaced with appointed officers until fresh elections are conducted.
The government maintains that the step has been taken to streamline governance and maintain efficiency in urban administration during the transition period.
