Sri Khadoor Sahib (Punjab), April 20, 2026:Senior Akali leader Ravinder Singh Brahmpura has written to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, raising serious concerns over incidents of sacrilege and the growing drug problem in the Khadoor Sahib region.
In his letter, Brahmpura urged the state government to ensure strict enforcement of laws to prevent any disrespect to Guru Granth Sahib. He emphasised the need for stronger legal mechanisms at the ground level to ensure swift action against those involved in such cases.
The leader also highlighted the alarming rise of drug abuse and gangsterism in Sri Khadoor Sahib, a historically significant religious region. He warned that the increasing influence of drugs is posing a serious threat to the youth.
Brahmpura alleged that certain individuals involved in drug trafficking are receiving political and social protection, calling the situation unacceptable. He asserted that people in the region would not tolerate such elements any longer.
Calling for decisive action, he urged the Chief Minister to act firmly against drug peddlers and their networks without political interference. He also cautioned that failure to take concrete steps could invite strong public response.
Brahmpura concluded by seeking the Chief Minister’s support in safeguarding the sanctity of religious institutions and protecting the youth from the growing menace of drugs and crime.
