Punjab Deputy Speaker Rouri inaugurates Rs 43.22 lakh CM Playground in Sadhowal

Garhshankar (Hoshiarpur), May 5, 2026: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri on Tuesday inaugurated a modern Chief Minister Playground built at a cost of ₹43.22 lakh in village Sadhowal, reaffirming the state government’s push to strengthen sports infrastructure.
The project has been developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, as part of efforts to promote sports and channel youth towards constructive activities.
Addressing the gathering, Rouri emphasised the crucial role of youth in Punjab’s development and said encouraging sports participation is essential in today’s time.
He noted that playgrounds not only provide space for physical activity but also help instil discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
Highlighting the government’s vision, he said the state is working extensively to upgrade sports facilities across both rural and urban areas, enabling young players to compete at higher levels and bring recognition to the state.
He also underlined that such initiatives can play a key role in steering youth away from drug abuse and towards positive engagement. Rouri urged young people to actively participate in sports and maintain good health.
Local residents, including members of the village panchayat and sports enthusiasts, welcomed the initiative and termed the playground a valuable asset for future generations.
The Deputy Speaker also directed officials to ensure proper upkeep and management of the facility so that it continues to benefit the youth.
