Chandigarh, May 5, 2026: A mid-air scare ended in an emergency evacuation at Chandigarh airport today after a passenger's powerbank caught fire onboard an IndiGo flight. The incident occurred on flight 6E 108, which had just arrived from Hyderabad and was stationary on the tarmac.

It is suspected that at least four passengers have been injured in the incident.
According to an official statement from an IndiGo spokesperson, the fire was sparked by a customer's personal electronic equipment. To ensure the safety of everyone on board, the crew initiated an immediate evacuation.
