Haryana Govt opens registration for free Sri Hazur Sahib pilgrimage train for senior citizens till May 10

Chandigarh, May 10, 2026: The Haryana Government has invited eligible senior citizens to register for a free pilgrimage to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana’, with registrations open till May 10 on the Saral Haryana Portal.
According to an official spokesperson, a special train for the pilgrimage will depart from Sirsa on May 15 as part of the state government’s religious tourism initiative for senior citizens.
The scheme is open to Haryana residents above 60 years of age whose annual family income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh. Eligible applicants can register either through nearby Common Service Centres (CSCs) or online using smartphones via the Saral Haryana Portal.
The spokesperson said applicants must submit mandatory documents including a valid photo identity proof such as an Aadhaar Card or PAN Card, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), a medical fitness certificate for travel, and a declaration confirming that they have not availed the scheme during the past three years.
Officials clarified that only Haryana residents possessing a valid PPP are eligible for the scheme and beneficiaries can avail its benefits only once every three years.
The government has also directed registered applicants to inform their respective District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) offices before May 11 so that details of eligible passengers can be forwarded to the Railways in time for travel arrangements.
