Samyukta Kisan Morcha Punjab launches protest march towards Governor house in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 15, 2026: Samyukta Kisan Morcha Punjab unit on Friday launched a protest march towards the Governor House in Chandigarh against what farmer leaders described as the Central Government’s increasing “burden” on Punjab.
Hundreds of farmers participated in the march, raising slogans and demanding action on issues concerning the agriculture sector and the state’s economy.
Heavy police deployment was seen at several points in Chandigarh as security arrangements were tightened during the protest.
