Punjab BJP Leadership: Sunil Jakhar passes baton to Kewal Singh Dhillon, extends full support

Chandigarh, May 28, 2026:Senior BJP leader and former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Thursday extended his best wishes to newly appointed Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon, expressing confidence that the party organisation would grow stronger under Dhillon’s leadership.
In a detailed message shared after the leadership change, Jakhar described his tenure as Punjab BJP president as a period of “great honour and responsibility” and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their trust and guidance throughout his journey.
He also acknowledged the organisational support and mentorship of BJP national leaders, including B. L. Santhosh, Jagat Prakash Nadda, and BJP National President Nitin Nabin.
Jakhar said the real strength of Punjab BJP lies in its workers, leaders and supporters across the state, whose commitment made his tenure meaningful and memorable.
“As this responsibility now passes on, my warm wishes and full support are with Shri Kewal Dhillon ji,” Jakhar said, adding that he was confident the organisation would continue to expand and serve Punjab with greater commitment under the new leadership.
Emphasising his continuing association with the state unit, Jakhar said his bond with Punjab and the BJP organisation goes beyond any political post and would remain rooted in commitment and dedication.
