Ferozepur, June 2, 2026: The Department of Posts has expanded its international mail booking services to rural areas, enabling residents to send parcels and documents abroad conveniently through village post offices.
Sharing this information, Ravi Kumar, Superintendent of Post Offices, Ferozepur Division, said that people can now send mail and parcels to their relatives and acquaintances living overseas through all rural post offices in the division. Earlier, such services were largely available at urban post offices, but the facility has now been extended to rural and remote areas as well.
He stated that India Post offers international mail services at highly competitive rates, which are significantly lower than many private courier companies. The initiative is aimed at ensuring that residents of villages and far-flung areas can access international postal services without having to travel to cities.
Kumar further informed that customers can check postal charges and obtain information about various domestic and international mailing services from the official India Post website. The department has also made high-quality packing boxes and professional packaging facilities available at rural post offices for articles being sent abroad.
The move is expected to benefit a large number of rural residents by providing affordable, reliable, and easily accessible international postal services at their doorstep.
