11 District-Level Teams constituted for smooth conduct of SIR-2026 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 2, 2026: To ensure the smooth, transparent, and time-bound implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Deepshikha Sharma, has constituted 11 district-level teams and appointed various nodal and assistant nodal officers in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
The District Election Officer informed that dedicated teams have been formed for Grievance and Complaint Redressal, IT Troubleshooting, Training Management, Material Management, Media Monitoring, Media Coordination, SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation), Reporting, Legal Affairs, Welfare of BLOs and other deployed staff, and Social Media Management.
She stated that these teams will oversee complaint resolution, technical support, training of officials and staff, procurement and distribution of required materials, media and social media awareness campaigns, legal matters, preparation of daily progress reports, and welfare-related issues of field staff during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
DEO said that all teams have been directed to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and ensure the completion of all assigned tasks within the stipulated timelines. She further informed that the overall supervision of the entire revision process will be carried out by Additional District Election Officer Dr. Amandeep Kaur.
Highlighting the objective of SIR-2026, the District Election Officer said that the exercise aims to make electoral rolls more accurate, transparent, and up-to-date so that every eligible citizen is duly enrolled as a voter, thereby strengthening the democratic process. She also directed all concerned officers and employees to work in close coordination to ensure the successful completion of this important exercise.
