Comprehensive arrangements underway for SIR-2026 to ensure accurate electoral rolls
Preparation of BLO kits underway for Special Intensive Revision (SIR): District Election Officer
Ferozepur, June 16, 2026: District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Deepashikha Sharma said that the Election Commission of India has issued the schedule for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Punjab.
As per the guidelines issued by the Commission, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits from June 25, 2026 to July 24, 2026, to get enumeration forms filled by voters.
She said that after this, claims and objections regarding the electoral rolls will be received from August 3, 2026 to September 2, 2026. The process of disposal of these claims and objections will continue from August 3, 2026 to September 28, 2026.
District Election Officer said that to ensure smooth implementation of this special drive, BLOs are being provided with kits containing essential material. These kits include blue and red pens, registers, ID card holders with lanyards, executive diaries, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, glue sticks, stamp pads, staplers with pin boxes, plastic scales, clipboards, sticky notes, stationery pouches, stainless steel water bottles, foldable umbrellas, permanent markers, information slips, visit stickers, Form No. 6, Form No. 8, declaration forms and duplicate pre-filled enumeration forms, among other items.
She informed that these BLO kits are being prepared at the district level under the supervision of Election Tehsildar Deepak Kumar by the concerned staff so that the Special Intensive Revision process can be implemented effectively and efficiently.
District Election Officer said that all necessary arrangements are being completed in advance to ensure a transparent and smooth voter list revision process.
