  Amritsar (Punjab), June 29, 2026: Sri Akal Takht on Monday directed the Punjab government to make amendments to the Jagat Jyoti Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026 within one month, following discussions with Sikh legislators over concerns surrounding the recently enacted anti-sacrilege law.
  
  The Jathedar directed that the bill be held till the objections are cleared.
