705 CM Yoga classes, 84 trainers and 20k daily participants driving Healthy Punjab Mission in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 2, 2026: The Punjab Government's "CM Di Yogshala" initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is playing a significant role in realizing the vision of "Rangla Punjab–Swasth Punjab" by promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle among citizens, said Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma.
DC stated that regular yoga classes are being conducted across Ferozepur district, attracting enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups. She said the initiative is not only aimed at teaching yoga but also at strengthening both physical and mental well-being.
Highlighting the scale of the programme, she informed that more than 705 yoga classes are currently being conducted in villages, wards, parks and other public places across the district. These sessions are being led by 84 trained yoga instructors, who provide guidance in yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation.
Around 20,000 people participate in these classes every day, with increasing involvement of women, youth, senior citizens and students reflecting the growing popularity of the campaign.
She said that regular yoga helps improve physical fitness, reduces mental stress and enhances overall productivity. Participants are also being educated about balanced nutrition, healthy lifestyle practices and stress management by trained instructors.
Reiterating the government's commitment to making yoga a people's movement, DC said the district administration is making continuous efforts to expand the reach and effectiveness of the programme. She appealed to residents to join the yoga classes being conducted in their localities and make yoga an integral part of their daily lives to contribute towards building a healthier Punjab.
District Coordinator of CM Di Yogshala, Amanpreet Kaur, said that any locality, village or neighbourhood with a group of at least 25 participants can request the launch of a free yoga class by giving a missed call on 76694-00500 or contacting 78888-40115. Citizens can also register online through the CM Di Yogshala portal to avail themselves of free yoga sessions.
