Morinda (Punjab), July 3, 2026: Senior Congress leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday held a meeting with several party leaders at his residence in Morinda amid ongoing discussions over the Punjab Congress's recent organisational developments.
According to party sources, 26 Congress leaders, including three sitting MLAs, attended the meeting. Discussions were continuing at the time of reporting.
Among those present were MLA Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Barnala MLA Kuldeep Singh 'Kala' Dhillon, Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister Om Parkash Soni, former ministers Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Gurkirat Singh Kotli, former MLAs Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Nazar Singh Manshahia, Parminder Singh Pinki, Davinder Singh Ghubaya, Tarqbir Singh Bolaria, Darshan Singh Brar, Harminder Singh Gill, Madan Lal Jalalpur, former Punjab Youth Congress president Barinder Singh Dhillon, Kamaljit Singh Karwal, former MP Mohammad Sadiq, former MLAs Joginder Pal, Dinesh Bassi, Dalvir Singh Goldy, and Balkaur Singh, father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of recent organisational appointments in the Punjab Congress, which have triggered internal discussions within the party. However, no official statement on the agenda or outcome of the meeting had been issued at the time of filing this report.
