Chandigarh, July 5, 2026:The Haryana Government has approved a ₹90-crore redevelopment project to upgrade the historic Yadavindra Garden (Pinjore Gardens) and Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills, with plans to transform Pinjore into an international wedding destination while boosting tourism and employment.
The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who directed the Tourism Department to modernise the two iconic tourist destinations without compromising their heritage value.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Wed in India’ initiative, the state government plans to develop a world-class one-stop wedding destination near Yadavindra Garden. The project includes the construction of a modern convention and exhibition centre equipped with international-standard facilities.
A luxury hotel will also be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The hotel will feature a rooftop helipad to facilitate direct access for domestic and international VIP guests.
Providing details of the project, Dr. Amit Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary, Heritage and Tourism Department, said the historic architecture and original character of Pinjore Gardens would be preserved throughout the redevelopment process.
The revamped tourist complex will feature several new attractions, including a state-of-the-art musical fountain, a landscaped butterfly park, an aquarium, and enhanced lighting to promote night tourism and improve the visitor experience.
The government will also upgrade tourism infrastructure at Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills. The project includes modernisation of boating facilities and expansion of adventure tourism activities to attract more visitors.
According to the government, the redevelopment is expected to significantly boost Haryana’s tourism sector, generate higher revenue, and create substantial employment opportunities for local residents.
