Chandigarh, July 6, 2026: The controversy surrounding the removal of Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh's film Satluj from OTT platforms continues to escalate, with the issue now taking a political turn. Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Monday said he would soon take up the matter with the Central leadership and seek an explanation for the film's removal.
Speaking to the media, Dhillon said he would hold discussions with senior leaders at the Centre and raise questions over the reasons behind the decision to remove Satluj from OTT platforms.
"I will soon speak with the Central leadership and place this issue before them. I will also try to ascertain the reasons behind the removal of the film and why such a decision was taken," Dhillon said.
The Punjab BJP chief assured that he would personally raise the matter with the concerned Union Minister and seek clarity on the circumstances that led to the film being taken down from streaming platforms.
The removal of Satluj has triggered widespread debate in Punjab, with several political leaders and members of the Punjabi film industry expressing concern over the decision.
During the interaction, Dhillon also targeted the state's opposition parties, alleging that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Shiromani Akali Dal, and the Congress were collectively working against Punjab's interests.
Reiterating his commitment to pursuing the issue, Dhillon said he would coordinate with the Central leadership and relevant Union ministers at the earliest to understand the reasons behind the decision and explore a resolution.
