New Delhi, July 11, 2026: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu travelled on the Delhi Metro on Saturday and interacted with commuters to understand their daily travel experiences, civic concerns and expectations from the administration. Sandhu has been serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi since March 2026.

Sharing details of the visit in a post on social media platform X, Sandhu said the Metro journey provided an opportunity to connect directly with citizens and listen to their views on issues affecting the national capital.
"On my way to Connaught Place today, I travelled by the Delhi Metro and had the opportunity to interact with fellow commuters along the journey," he wrote.
Describing the interactions as insightful, the Lieutenant Governor said such engagements help the administration better understand the everyday experiences of Delhi's residents.
"Like before, it was an insightful experience—hearing directly about their daily commute, civic concerns, and aspirations for our city."
Emphasising the importance of public engagement in governance, Sandhu said listening to citizens is key to delivering effective and responsive administration.
"These conversations are an important reminder that effective governance is rooted in listening. Staying connected with the everyday experiences of our citizens helps ensure that our efforts remain responsive, people-centric, and focused on improving the quality of life for all," he added.
