Chandigarh, July 15, 2026: Putting an end to speculation over a possible leadership reshuffle in the Punjab Congress, the party’s Punjab in-charge, Bhupesh Baghel, on Wednesday said there will be no organisational changes in the state unit for the time being.
The clarification came after Baghel held a key meeting with Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal in New Delhi.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Baghel reiterated his earlier stand, asserting that the Congress high command has no plans to alter the existing leadership in Punjab.
“Restructuring a historic and national party like the Congress is not a child’s play. Organisational decisions are taken only after careful deliberation and a detailed process,” Baghel said.
He further made it clear that the Congress leadership will not revisit or alter the decisions already taken, indicating that the current leadership in Punjab will continue to lead the party.
Baghel’s statement comes amid weeks of speculation over possible changes in the Punjab Congress organisation and leadership, effectively ruling out any immediate reshuffle.
