CPDL Commissions new 11 kV feeder to improve power supply in Sector 46-C

Chandigarh, August 12, 2026: Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has commissioned a new 11 kV feeder for Sector 46-C, aimed at improving the reliability and capacity of the electricity distribution network in the area.
The new 11 kV 46-C Feeder, originating from the 66/11 kV Sector-47 Grid Substation, has been completed at an approximate cost of Rs 55 lakh.
According to CPDL officials, the new feeder will provide significant load relief to the existing 11 kV feeder supplying Sectors 46-C and 46-D from the Sector-32 Grid Substation. This is expected to reduce feeder loading and improve the continuity and reliability of power supply to consumers.
The project will also increase flexibility in the distribution network by allowing more efficient redistribution of electrical load and providing additional system redundancy.
CPDL said the new infrastructure will further facilitate planned cut-point shifting to provide additional load relief to the 11 kV 32 Water Works Feeder, originating from the Sector-52 Grid Substation. This will help improve the overall performance of the electricity distribution network.
For consumers in Sector 46-C and adjoining areas, the project is expected to improve voltage regulation, reduce the risk of feeder overloading and minimise the chances of power outages.
The additional capacity will also help CPDL meet the area's future electricity demand as the locality continues to develop.
