Breaking: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Gets New Vice-Chancellor

Chandigarh, August 23, 2026: Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, by the Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the university.
An official notification regarding the appointment has been issued by Vivek Pratap Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor.
Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal has been appointed for a three-year term from the date he assumes charge of the office. The appointment has been made under the powers vested in the Chancellor under Section 14(2) of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Act, 1998.
The notification further states that the terms and conditions of service of the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor will be issued separately.
