Transfer Breaking: 32 IAS officers transferred

Patna (Bihar), August 31, 2026: The Bihar government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 32 IAS officers through three separate orders issued between August 22 and August 29.
The changes cover key state departments as well as district and sub-divisional assignments. The latest orders also include the first field postings of 2024-batch IAS officers following completion of their Phase-II professional training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
In the order issued on August 22, Shreya Sri (IAS: 2022), who was awaiting posting, was appointed DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Khagaria.
Among the 2023-batch officers transferred were Garima Lohiya, appointed Municipal Commissioner, Darbhanga Municipal Corporation; Anirudh Pandey, posted as Municipal Commissioner, Purnea Municipal Corporation; and Tushar Kumar, appointed DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Madhubani.
Pradhumn Singh Yadav was posted as Director, Food Processing Directorate, Department of Industries, while Akanksha Anand was appointed DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Sasaram, Rohtas. Anjali Sharma was given charge as Director, Persons with Disabilities and Social Welfare Department.
Other appointments included Rohit Kumar as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Kaimur; Shipra Vijay Kumar Chaudhary as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Jamui; Neha Kumari as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Katihar; and Krishna Chandra Gupta as Inspector General of Registration, Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department.
12 Officers of 2024 Batch Get Field Postings
The August 22 order also assigned field responsibilities to 12 IAS officers of the 2024 batch after completion of their Phase-II training.
Virupaksh Vikram Singh was posted as SDO, Danapur, while Priya Rani was appointed SDO, Sasaram. Krishna Joshi was posted as SDO, Barh, and Prem Kumar as SDO, Haveli Kharagpur.
Other officers posted as SDOs included Syed Adeel Mohsin at Marhaura, Ajay Yadav at Ballia, Begusarai, Suraj Kumar at Katihar, Dinesh T P at Purnea, Jatin Kumar at Sherghati, Gaya, K Parikshit at Naugachhia, Mahesh Kumar at Tarapur and Kashish Bakshi at Patna City.
Six IAS Officers Shifted on August 28
A second order dated August 28 brought changes involving six officers.
Ujjwal Kumar Singh (IAS: 2011) was transferred from Director, Animal Husbandry, and appointed Special Secretary, Rural Development Department. Srikant Shastri (IAS: 2012) was appointed Director, Animal Husbandry.
Vivek Ranjan Maitrey (IAS: 2017) was posted as Additional Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department, while Nitin Kumar Singh (IAS: 2018) was appointed Director, Secondary Education.
Neelima Sahu (IAS: 2021) was transferred from DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Nawada, to Joint Secretary, Health Department. Divya Shakti (IAS: 2022) was appointed Commissioner, Excise, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department.
Three More Transfers on August 29
The government issued another order on August 29 covering three officers.
Sunil Kumar (IAS: 2014) was transferred from Managing Director, Bihar State Food & Civil Supplies Corporation, and posted as Director, Audit, Finance Department.
Anjani Kumar (IAS: 2016) was appointed Commissioner, VB-G RAM G, Rural Development Department, after being transferred from his post as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Purnea.
Abhay Jha (IAS: 2017) was transferred from Additional Secretary, Rural Development Department, and posted to the Bihar State Food & Civil Supplies Corporation, Patna. He had also been holding additional charge as Additional Secretary, Food & Consumer Protection Department.
The three orders issued within eight days mark a significant reorganisation of Bihar’s administrative machinery, with substantial changes at the district and sub-divisional levels and fresh appointments to several important state departments.
