Punjab Govt to hold NRI meet in Amritsar on Sept 23

Amritsar (Punjab), September 15, 2026: The Punjab government will organise an NRI meeting in Amritsar on September 23 to hear and address the grievances and complaints of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from the Majha region.
The meeting will begin at 10 am at Hotel Le Méridien, Amritsar, with Punjab Minister for NRI Affairs Dr Ravjot Singh attending as the chief guest.
NRIs associated with Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran districts will participate in the meeting and present their issues before the concerned authorities. Necessary action will be initiated to resolve the complaints, officials said.
Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh said senior officials of the NRI Affairs Department, along with administrative officials from all four Majha districts, would attend the meeting.
He said the Punjab government would listen to the grievances of NRIs and take necessary steps for their timely resolution.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to NRIs from the Majha region to attend the meeting and raise their issues directly with the concerned officials. The state government is committed to ensuring prompt and effective resolution of matters concerning the Punjabi diaspora, he said.
